Date de début de projet :

18/10/2019

Date de fin du projet :

31/12/2019

Objectifs

The main scientific objectives are to i) identify, through a collaborative multi-stakeholder process, what are the key factors that motivate or limit smallholders to engage in forest restoration, and ii) to assess the enabling conditions necessary to balance the provision of both environmental services and social and economic benefits to support the practical implementation of national and state policies for environmental restoration.

Localisation

North-Eastern Pará (Brazil)

Description

Objective of WP1 - “coordination and communication” : To guarantee integration between the different work packages and encourage knowledge sharing between researchers, institutions and farmers.

Objective of WP2 -  “Ecological Assessment”: Identify the diversity of restoration processes and assess the level of ecosystem services delivery from the restoration interventions at local and landscape scales

Objective of WP3 - “Farming system assessment”: To identify the necessary conditions for integrating forest restoration activities into the production system.

Objective of WP4 - “Socio-economical assessment” : To determine what are the motivations or barriers for farmers in restoring forest on their property.

Objective of WP5 - “Multi-stakeholder modelling process”: To facilitate different stakeholders in sharing perspectives on the balance needed to achieve both ecological and social benefits, helping to identify possible synergies between individual and collective strategies.
